Indian Technical Institute for Women at Guwahati organized a training program on Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving for Women. Post the initial training on driving on road in a 3D Simulator which introduces the trainees to motor driving in a simulated environment prevalent in Indian roads, the next phase of training covered hands-on driving on regulated track followed by on the road driving behind the wheel of a motor vehicle under the supervision of an Instructor.

Assam Investment Advisory Society donated Wagon R of Maruti Suzuki to Indian Technical Institute for Women for fulfilling the essential need for completing the Motor driving training program contributing towards upgrading the infrastructure of the institute.

It helped them understand the Code of Conduct on the Roads: Lane Discipline, Overtaking, Speeds, Accelerations/ Decelerations, U-Turns, Stopping/Parking, Driver Signal, Night Driving, Mirrors, Moving Off

Enabled them to understand basics, inside and outside the vehicle, Maintenance, Fuel Efficiency, Handling techniques, important components like tyre and performance

The Knowledge about traffic control Devices: Importance and understanding of Road Signs, Marking and Signals – Recognition – Meaning – Action

The project empowered women to get well-paid respectful jobs as professional drivers in the booming public transportation industry.
