Towards Women Empowerment

A Platform to Become Self- Sustaining Potential Driver

Assam Investment Advisory Society (AIAS) took an initiative to guide women with technical skill and empower them to become self- sustaining potential driver. In 2015, AIAS donated a 3D Simulator Driving to Indian Technical Institute for Women at Guwahati. It aims to empower women to drive car which would enhance their value and role in serving the community.

The use of 3D Simulator Driving in the Motor Driving training especially for the women is essential to give them real life feeling of driving a vehicle in simulated software which represents the conditions in an Indian road as most of the women do not have asses to using a two/four-wheeler vehicle on road.

1

Social Impact

Practice on a simulator prior to driving a vehicle on actual road gave women’s trainees a kind of confidence which helped them learn driving easily on the road.

The exposure to practice on a simulator cuts down the time required to learn driving leading to reduction in the duration of training period to accommodate more trainees in a year.

2

Economic Impact

The administered driving stimulator has saved cost and has helped learners experience the consequences of their actions in an almost unlimited range of driving situations without risk of material damage and injury. Equivalent training in the real world would be prohibitively expensive and dangerous
